A local second grader, James Fleming, has started a Kids Recycling Poster Contest. James made a wonderful presentation to the Sykesville Town Council last month and requested that the town sponsor a Poster Contest. A LIKELY STORY along with other businesses in town will be supplying the window space for the posters as well as prizes for the winners. This contest is open to Sykesville residents grades K-5. All posters are due at the town house by 5pm April 22^nd (EARTH DAY!!)

It’s that time again……..Summer is coming!!! We will again be having our Summer Reading program starting in June. We had such a large group last year we will be splitting the groups a little smaller this year. This will also make it easier for reading levels. As always, you child may participate in which ever group is best suited for him/her.

Group levels:

Entering Kindergarten through 1^st grade
2^nd and 3^rd grade
4^th and 5^th grade
6^th – 8^th grade

The cost again will be $50.00 which includes all books, registration, games, crafts, activities for all discussions.

We have a minimum and maximum for each group. Register today. We will have 5 evening meetings per group throughout the summer. Dates will be determined shortly
